Success of the AWWLC can be defined in many different ways as outlined below:

• Being able to serve the local Laramie, state of Wyoming, U.S., and worldwide communities by providing resources with respect to exposure to and learning about diverse world languages and cultures.
• Providing support to our native-speaking, volunteer instructors and the learners participating in the many world language and culture classes as they engage in cohesive communities, bridge cross-cultural gaps, and achieve individually unique, self-paced world language and culture goals.
• Providing a nonformal learning environment where participants interact with their native-speaking instructors to design an authentic, contextualized, hands-on/minds-on, and self-paced world language and culture curriculum that addresses each student’s unique goals and responds to each student’s favored learning styles. This learning is related to integrating functional literacy practices (reading, speaking, writing) to learn language skills and interconnecting this language learning to gain understanding of diverse cultural practices (religion, traditions, geography, etc.)
• Meaningfully and positively impacting adult students’ learning by enhancing:
• student emotional engagement,
• student personal engagement through self-reflection and self-study, and
• student engagement in relationship building through proactive student-student and student-teacher interactions.
